Six teams will compete in the 2022 Asia Cup. The six participating teams are India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong. By defeating UAE in the qualification round final, Hong Kong took first place and secured a position as the sixth team in the competition.

Asia Cup 2022 will be hosted by Sri Lanka in UAE. A total of 13 matches will take place during the Asia Cup 2022. The final will be played on September 11 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India is the defending champions of the tournament as they won the previous edition back in 2018.

There are 2 groups in Asia Cup 2022- Group A and Group B. Group A consists of India, Pakistan, and Hong Kong. Group B comprises Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. After the first round, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the super 4 round. After the super 4 round, the top two teams will qualify for the final encounter.
