Another defeat to Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans make it to the playoffs

In the 19th match of PSL 9, Multan Sultans once again qualified for the playoffs by defeating Karachi Kings by 20 runs.

In the match played at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, Multan Sultans batted first and scored 189 runs in the allotted 20 overs thanks to Usman Khan’s brilliant century, in response to which Karachi Kings could only score 169 runs.

Multan Sultans Batting:

Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and elected to bat first. Reza Hendricks, who came to bat with the captain, proved to be the guest of 13 runs.

After which Muhammad Rizwan established a joint partnership of 150 runs with Usman Khan. Usman Khan played an unbeaten innings of 106 runs off 59 balls while scoring a brilliant century.

Apart from this, captain Muhammad Rizwan scored 58 runs and Reese Hendricks scored 13 runs, Iftikhar Ahmed scored 4 runs and got out.

Mazrabani took 2 wickets and Hasan Ali took 1 wicket for Karachi Kings.

Karachi Kings Batting:

In pursuit of the target, Shoaib Malik and Shaan Masood scored 36 runs on behalf of Karachi Kings, Irfan Khan scored 23 runs, Hassan Ali scored 17 runs and Lewis Duploy scored 12 runs while James Vance scored 7 runs and Tim Seifert scored one run. Apart from this, Mohammad Nawaz remained not out with 27 runs.

On behalf of Multan, Osama Mir dismissed 2 players, David Wiley, Muhammad Ali, Chris Jordan and Khushdil Shah took one wicket each.

Earlier, both Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings made two changes in their team. Louis Deploy and Mir Hamza replaced Kieron Pollard and Anwar Ali at Kings.

Sultans replaced Aftab Ibrahim and Shah Nawaz Dhani with Chris Jordan and David Vale.
